PICK UP, GOD IS CALLING YOU!

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

When you read this Scripture you may think if we are a chosen generation, and His own special people; why are there people who are not saved? The answer is simple, there are two parts to this scripture. The second half tells us that God has called us out of darkness and into His marvellous light. When Jesus died on the cross that call was made. The key word is "call". God called us and then He gave us free will, a choice to decide whether or not to respond to that "call". It's just like a mobile phone. When somebody calls you, you can chose to answer, silence the call and maybe answer later or you can simply choose to reject the incoming call.

People reject the call of God in many ways, they say non-sensical things such as there is no God, or they out rightly sin and have no care of the consequences. Then there are the people who want to buy now and pay later. They want to receive the blessings but they are not ready to stop mixing with the world. They are lukewarm Christians! They silence the call for the mean time and wait for a call at a later date.

But when you answer the "call", you accept Jesus as your personal saviour, He takes the burden of your sin and nails it to the cross! You become a member of the chosen generation. You are truly set free and apart. My senior associate Pastor, Pastor Awo Antwi puts it so mildly and at the time same time with so much humour - "God likes it Hot". So to be part of this chosen generation we must answer this "call", because when Jesus died God put out the call all we need to do is ANSWER! Determine in your heart today to answer His call; because He has already called and is waiting for you to answer.
