PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF PEACE

Romans 10:14-15
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

I am so glad that someone told me about Jesus when they did because I can't imagine my life now without Him. As followers of Christ, we are commanded to go out and share the Good News of God's word with others so that they can hear it and respond to it. I hear a lot of Christians saying how much they love Jesus and yet say they are not comfortable sharing their greatest and most priceless testimony of salvation with others especially, their work colleagues, family and friends with the fear of being rejected or being called names. Does it really matter what others call us because of our faith and in whom we believe?

If there is anything I have learnt from my forty years of being alive, is that nothing worthwhile comes for nothing. There is always a price to pay and like Pastor David Antwi so mildly puts it, "freedom isn't free." You have to give something to get something, the higher the cost the better the price. Our salvation didn't come cheap at all, it came with a very expensive price tag - one you and I can never pay back even if we wanted to. Because it is priceless and a precious glorious gift from our Father the giver of all good and perfect gifts!

The Bible never said, it was going to be easy being a follower of Christ neither our witness for Him. However, it says in 1 Peter 4:14 that, "If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you." and it continues to say in verse 16 that, if we suffer as a Christian, we should not be ashamed but to praise God that we bear His name. Hallelujah!

God is calling you today to take part in making His message known in your work place, community, in your family and even in your local church to the ones who don't have a personal relationship with Him and to encourage them in the growth of their faith in Him. I am very sure there is at least one person you know who needs to hear the Gospel of Jesus today. Think of something you can do or help him or her hear it. Take this opportunity to spend time in prayer and with God, then go and share the love of Jesus with someone at work, on the train or the bus. Don't hesitate or think too much into it, just do your bit and leave the rest to the Jesus to take care of!

Reflections:
Just think, how will your friends, family, work colleagues and others hear the Gospel of Christ unless you tell them. And don't lose sight of the end goal and prize -  Philippians 3:14, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Power verses:
who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,--2 Timothy 1:9

Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.--Hebrews 3:1

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation.--Romans 15:20
