WE MUST TRUST IN GOD TO CHANGE OUR LIVES

When we sincerely surrender ourselves to God, we must TRUST Him to change our lives. By reviewing the first few words of each verse in the scriptures below, we are on our way to becoming a person who trusts in God to make changes in our attitudes, behaviors and circumstances in life.

Psalms 119: 33-39
Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.

Give me understanding and I will keep your law
and obey it with all my heart.

Direct me in the path of your commands
for there I find delight.

Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.

Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
Preserve my life according to your word.

Fulfill your promise to your servant
so that you may be feared.

Take away the disgrace I dread,
for your laws are good.

It’s important for us to realize that it is God who has started the good work in our lives and we must trust Him to complete what He has begun. The book of Philippians, Chapter one, Verse six says: "…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." It is God who has started to work on our attitudes, personalities and circumstances. All we have to do is to surrender our will to His power at work in us- trusting Him to finish what He has started.

Power verses:
your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.--Psalm 139:16

Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.---Psalm 100:3

great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to all the ways of men; you reward everyone according to his conduct and as his deeds deserve.--Jeremiah 32:19
