Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Today's scripture couldn't be more straight forward and straight to the point. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." Jesus repeatedly said this in the scriptures that loving God with all our heart, soul and mind is the first and the greatest commandments. The more I read the Bible, the more I realise God's laws are not so burdensome as some of us Christians have made it to be. I am sure we all know from our human view point that when we are madly and truly in love with someone, you are prepared to do anything for them and in doing so cares and love anything that concerns them and means so much to them too.
I find this so relevant to loving God. If we truly love God then we will love others as much as He loves you and I. And the beauty of this special demonstration of love is, we have the gift of His special grace to make it possible. When we love God completely and care for others as much as He does for us, then we have fulfilled the intent of His commandments and all the old testament laws. According to Jesus these two commandments summarise all of God's laws. I want to encourage us today to let this rule our thoughts, decisions and actions in whatever we do in our daily lives. And when we are uncertain about what to do, lets ask ourselves which course of action best demonstrates the love of God both for us and others.

For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.--Deuteronomy 30:16
Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.--Psalm 119:2
