IT'S ALL ABOUT GOD

John 3:8
The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit."

This verse puts the workings and doings of God into perspective for me. I am known to be a control freak and I have come to the understanding over the years that there are some things that I just can't control no matter how much I try. For instance we humans have tried over the years to control nature in every possible way but have come to the realisation that nature is far too powerful to be controlled by any man. We can only predict so far what might happen or may not. For example the explosion of an earthquake to an extent, but we cannot stop it's destruction.

Like Jesus explains in this verse, the same way we cannot control nature so we cannot control the work of the Holy Spirit at work in us or others. Because He works in ways we cannot predict or understand, just as we cannot control our physical birth neither can we control our Spiritual birth either. The Holy Spirit is a free gift from God. Romans 8:16, "For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children."

I know we sometimes assume some people are beyond the reach of God's word because of who they have become or are for example; their social standing, affluence, etc. We have to constantly remember it all about God and through His Holy Spirit He reaches out to everyone. And we as His servants need to continually and diligently pray for whomever He brings to our mind. Remember, God may touch those you think most unlikely and He may just use you to do it if you avail yourself to Him. Be a witness and an example to everyone you come in contact with; starting from today!

Reflections:
Are there people you disregard, thinking they could never be brought to God?
Such as a world leader for whom you have never prayed for or a successful person to whom you have never witnessed?

Power verses:
Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.--John 3:6

He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.--Psalm 135:7

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.--Ecclesiastes 11:5
