1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Today I came to encourage and to remind you that, I don't care what you have done or what your past is. God does not want you and I to hold on to or struggle with sin in our lives. He want us to live obediently to His word. However, when we stumble He also teaches us to repent from our sins by confessing it and turning away from it by making a 180 degress turn not 360. As we do, He instantly forgives us because He is faithful and gracious in all His ways towards us His children.
By confessing, He offers us purity through His forgiveness wiping everything clean and remembers it no more. Nothing we can do on our own can purify us, even if we tried so hard. This because we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but through Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed and made heirs to the Kingdom of God. This Jesus Christ did by exchanging and trading in our filthy rags and sins on the cross for His righteousness - wow what a privilege and an honour!
All this because He wants us to be in a right relationship with God our heavenly Father. So my dear sisters and brothers in Christ, do not ever think you are not worthy of being forgiven because you and I may struggle at times with the same type of sin. But as we repent, we also learn to ask God work in us both to will and to work His good pleasure by resisting that sin next time ( Philippians 2:13 with emphasis added). This helps us to become stronger and stronger to resist temptation to sin in the future.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Just remember His is faithful and His word cannot be broken.
VERSE FOR MEDITATION:
who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.--Titus 2:14
